Have a plastic detox
Make a pledge to reduce single-use plastics at home. Let each family member, including children, come up with their own specific ways to reduce plastic use. This could be using reusable shopping bags, always taking a reusable water bottle to school or having snacks without plastic wrappers.
Try a ‘sustainable day out’ over the holidays , which includes activities like packing a plant-based picnic, using public transportation and leaving no waste behind.
Get crafty and make some plastic alternatives. This could be making reusable beeswax wraps for food storage, or making homemade soap to avoid using plastic bottles. Or perhaps spend the afternoon making homemade snacks like granola bars, trail mix, or fruit leathers. Store them in reusable containers for school and outings.
